Bad Ass Quilter's Society Challenge

April saw the completion of my certificate program for my Professional Life.  As I was nearing completion, I had taken a break and was browsing Facebook, when I saw that Maddie Kertay had posted the Black and White Skully Challenge.  My immediate response?

I ordered the six fat quarters of Skully fabrics that were required to show on the top of the quilt, as well as the companion fat quarters, and passed my last final as I waited for the fabric to arrive.  The timing was perfect.  I decided to make a wall hanging for my daughter, and quickly got to work fussy-cutting the Skully's.  The result: "Skully's in da House"

I had a lot of fun putting this together.  I decided to do trapunto behind the skulls to make them stand out a bit more, and feather quilting in the log cabin blocks.  Here are some fun close-ups of the Skully center trapunto blocks:

This quilt has a lot of texture.  It's hard to see it all from the front, but easy to see on the back:

Anyway, I hope you like it.  My daughter is thrilled.  Thanks for looking!
